Gerald Solomon served as the Executive Director of the Samueli Foundation for 14 years managing their global philanthropy, providing grants to innovative entrepreneurial programs in excess of $500 Mil worldwide. The focus was on STEM Education and Youth Development. During his tenure, he designed and launched the STEM Learning Ecosystems in over 90 cities across the globe redefining STEM learning with a focus on workforce development and economic impact. In 2018, he created NASEF (Network of Academic and Scholastic Esports Federations), the nation’s first ever approach connecting gaming and learning using esports to provide opportunities for students to play, have fun, and acquire the STEM skills needed for the workforce of tomorrow, connecting them to the tech industry. In 5 short years, NASEF is now in all US states, and has established NASEF Affiliates in 34 countries reaching over 250,000 students, establishing over 7,000 NASEF esports Clubs around the world. He serves on the Board of Directors of IESF (International Esports Federation) and as Chair of the Esports Education Commission, the global leader in esports with 150+ member countries. He is a sought after speaker and trainer, having presented in such places as: ISTE, FETC, BETT London and BETT Asia, Beijing, Chengdu, Hanoi, Tokyo, Busan, Montenegro, Brussels, Bali and Riyadh to name a few.
