The Physical Activity and Sports Tech for Healthy Lifestyles (PASTECHL) has officially been welcomed as a member of the HEPA Europe Network, supported by the World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Office for Europe. The membership was confirmed on 21 August 2025 following the review and approval of PASTECHL’s application by the HEPA Europe Steering Committee. This recognition reflects PASTECHL’s growing role in advancing research, innovation, and collaboration in the field of health-enhancing physical activity.
HEPA Europe brings together institutions, experts, and policymakers from across the continent to strengthen the promotion of physical activity as a cornerstone of public health. By joining the network, PASTECHL will gain the opportunity to engage with its vibrant community, share its work at international conferences, and contribute to the development of new methods, tools, and strategies that encourage healthier lifestyles.
As a member, PASTECHL is invited to take part in HEPA Europe’s thematic working groups, which cover key areas such as active ageing, children and adolescents, physical activity in healthcare settings, socially disadvantaged groups, and workplace promotion. These groups provide valuable platforms for collaboration, ranging from funded research projects to the exchange of practical experiences that align closely with PASTECHL’s mission and expertise.
This milestone also provides opportunities for early-career professionals within PASTECHL to engage in the network’s dedicated section for young researchers and practitioners, further strengthening the capacity of future leaders in the field. We look forward to working with partners across Europe to drive innovation and contribute to HEPA Europe’s mission of building a more active and healthier society for all.
