PASTECHL Representatives Participate in the Annual EU Budget Conference 2026 in Brussels

Mr. Miodrag Zarubica, Director of PASTECHL, and Prof. Dr. Stevo Popović from the University of Montenegro participated in the Annual EU Budget Conference 2026, organized by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Budget on 2 July 2026 in Brussels.

The conference brought together representatives of European institutions, EU Member States, candidate countries, academia, research organizations, and civil society to discuss the priorities of the European Union’s next Multiannual Financial Framework and the strategic directions for future EU funding.

The participation of the PASTECHL representatives provided an opportunity to engage with policymakers and key European stakeholders, highlighting the importance of increased investment in sport, health, physical activity, digital transformation, and innovation. Particular emphasis was placed on the need to further integrate emerging technologies and artificial intelligence into European policies and funding instruments that support the development of sport, preventive healthcare, and the overall well-being of citizens.

As an organization dedicated to the development and application of advanced technologies in sport and health, PASTECHL actively promotes digital solutions, advanced monitoring systems for health and sport indicators, the use of artificial intelligence for data analysis and decision-making, and the development of innovative tools that contribute to more effective and sustainable public policies. Participation in this conference represented an important opportunity to promote these priorities within the planning of the European Union’s future budget, including the upcoming financial period in which Montenegro is expected to be included, according to the announcements of the European institutions.

Participation in this event further demonstrates PASTECHL’s commitment to contributing to European initiatives and policies that connect sport, health, technology, and artificial intelligence. At the same time, the conference provided valuable opportunities to establish new partnerships and strengthen international cooperation, supporting the organization’s future involvement in European research and innovation projects.

PASTECHL will continue to advance smart solutions for sport and health through science, innovation, and international collaboration, supporting European policies that foster sustainable development, digital transformation, and the responsible application of artificial intelligence for the benefit of society.
