During the weekend, Podgorica hosted an International Scientific Conference in the field of Sports and Health Sciences

During the three-day program, speakers will present current topics from all areas of sports and health sciences. Annual awards were given to Majer, Kulinovic, and Perovic.

The International Scientific Conference (PASTECHL Podgorica 2022), held for the first time from Friday to Sunday, hosted twelve invited speakers, three expert workshops, and the EUFITMOS training school. In total, 139 participants from Portugal, Spain, Slovenia, Greece, Croatia, Albania, Bulgaria, Serbia, Algeria, and Montenegro exchanged the latest findings and discussed numerous current issues in the fields of sports and health sciences.

“During the first day of the conference, keynote lectures and the EUFITMOS training school were featured,” stated the president of the PASTECHL Podgorica 2022 conference, Bojan Masanovic. He also expressed gratitude publicly to the invited speakers, eminent professors: Radenko Matić, Zoran Nikolovski, Nemanja Lakicevic, Adilson Marques, Juel Jarani, Marijana Geets-Kesic, Szabolcs Halasi, Dusan Stupar, Mujahed Fişne, and Seyed Morteza, as well as to the lecturer at the training school, Assistant Professor Jovan Gardašević.

According to Masanovic, on the second day of the conference, sessions took place through parallel oral and poster presentations. Additionally, three workshops prepared by Selçuk Akpınar, Predrag Bozic, and Stevo Popovic provided participants with the opportunity to familiarize themselves with new technologies in sports and health sciences.

“The organizer of the most prestigious scientific event in sports and health sciences in Montenegro has provided conference participants the opportunity to publish their full papers in the journals Sports, Sustainability, and BioMed Research International, all indexed in the prestigious ‘Web of Science’ database,” emphasized the head of the scientific committee, Selçuk Akpınar.

During the conference’s opening ceremony, certificates of appreciation were awarded to the conference partners, invited speakers, and recipients of annual awards established this year to become traditional, according to PASTECHL executive director, Miodrag Zarubica. This year’s laureates included Sasa Kulinovic, who received the “Active Lifestyle Award,” Nikola Perovic, awarded the “Sport and Health Personality Award,” and Multisport Academy Majer and Igor Majer, recipients of the “Active Workplace Award.” The conference was officially opened by Zoja Bojanic Lalovic, Director of the Bureau for Education.

The conference concluded with an open humanitarian activity – a swimming competition held at the voco 5* hotel pool on Sunday at 8 AM – In honor of Montenegro’s water polo players who won a medal in Malaga. Funds raised during the event were donated to the Public Institution Daily Center for Children with Developmental Disabilities and Persons with Disabilities in Niksic.
