Vesna Popovic-Bugarin is a Full Professor at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Montenegro, with extensive experience in research and education in Artificial Intelligence and Signal Processing. She earned her Ph.D. in Signal Processing and Computer Sciences and has devoted the last ten years primarily to research and teaching in Artificial Intelligence. Her research interests mainly include data mining, machine learning, digital signal processing, heuristic optimization methods, time-frequency signal analysis, and micro-Doppler analysis. She has published more than 40 papers in prominent international scientific journals and conference proceedings. She serves as a reviewer for several scientific journals. She has participated in numerous research projects supported by the Montenegrin Ministry of Science, the Canadian government (DRDC), two FP7 projects, and the ERASMUS+ project “Strengthening capacities for the implementation of dual education in Montenegro higher education (DUALMON)”; She served as Deputy Scientific Director of BIO-ICT, the first Centre of Excellence in Montenegro (2013–2018), and Vice Dean for Development and Research at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Montenegro (2019–2022). In addition to her research activities, she actively engages in educational innovation, serving as a coordinator for dual education programs at her faculty. Through these initiatives, she significantly contributes to bridging the gap between academia and industry, enhancing students’ practical skills.
