At the PASTECHL Podgorica 2025 Conference, held from October 17–19 at the Science and Technology Park of Montenegro, one of the notable contributions was the poster presentation titled “Building Inclusive Sports Communities: Results from the Selection of SAM Methodologies in Montenegro,” authored by Miodrag Zarubica and Stevo Popović.
The study aimed to identify the most relevant Sport Academy Methodology (SAM) modules suitable for implementation in the Montenegrin context, focusing on inclusiveness, sustainability, and community-oriented approaches to sports education. A structured survey was conducted among 12 organizations, including schools, sports clubs, NGOs, and national federations, serving diverse participant groups from children to adults.
The findings highlighted three methodologies as the most promising: “Summer Day Camp,” “Family Training,” and “Sporty Birthday – Fun, Movement, and Friendship.” These SAM modules were recognized for their accessibility, adaptability, and their strong contribution to both physical and social development.
The authors concluded that a combined application of these methodologies ensures broad community impact, spanning formal education, family-based training, and informal participation in sports. Together, they provide a sustainable and innovative framework for fostering lifelong physical activity and building inclusive sports communities.
This presentation was realized as part of the project dissemination activities, contributing to the broader effort of promoting research results, good practices, and the practical implementation of innovative methodologies in the field of sport and health promotion.
